The premier edition of artMRKT Hamptons, which runs through Sunday, July 17, kicked off with a benefit and VIP preview yesterday evening in a sprawling tent on the grounds of the Bridgehampton Historical Society. A festive crowd of collectors, curators, artist, critics, and vacationers filled the aisles to look at art while sipping champagne and enjoying small bites from local eateries. Thirty-five galleries from across the country brought a colorful mix of contemporary art in a variety of media by established and emerging artists from around the world. A+ was there to capture the players with some of the best works on view.
