Today’s the day things really start to bustle. Though most privileged collectors have already browsed the fairs and made their offers on artworks, the rest of the art world finally gets a chance to scope things out for themselves. As fairs begin to open their doors to the general public, so too do other esteemed local collectors, like the nearby Rubell Family Collection. (We spoke with collector Don Rubell earlier this week about his approach to the fairs.) There are a number of other activities and events happening all day long, ranging from Art Basel-sponsored artist talks to outdoor art tours, and even a Modern and Contemporary art auction at the Ritz Carlton. That said, After the sun goes down is when things start to get truly busy, as people of all walks get together in celebration at the numerous parties across the city.
