Olympia Sonnier grew up in the midst New York’s art world—most of her parent’s friends are artists—and she has built a small and meaningful art collection, including the recent acquisition of a lovely Sarah Charlesworth photograph, produced to benefit ACRIA. Olympia says that what she likes about art is what she also loved most about college: the possibilities are limitless!
The New York Times reports that Eric Fischl is ready to take his “America: Now and Here” project on the road, crisscrossing American small towns and cities with a truck-based museum and performance space. The tour, which is intended to address what Fischl sees as an identity crisis in American culture, kicks off on May 6 in a temporary exhibition space in Kansas City, Missouri and moves on to similar spaces in Detroit in July and Chicago in October.
