Father’s Day annually falls on the third Sunday in June. This year it is June 19th. To celebrate the special occasion, the Artspace curators have assembled a dynamic art collection in honor of Father’s Day, with an eye for artworks by Steve Miller, David Levinthal, Clifford Ross, Ralph Gibson, Lou Reed, Micah and Whitney Stansell and others that might appeal to very special dads.
The New York Times reports that Eric Fischl is ready to take his “America: Now and Here” project on the road, crisscrossing American small towns and cities with a truck-based museum and performance space. The tour, which is intended to address what Fischl sees as an identity crisis in American culture, kicks off on May 6 in a temporary exhibition space in Kansas City, Missouri and moves on to similar spaces in Detroit in July and Chicago in October.
